Commitment is essential key in success. Commitment is also the key ingredient in loyalty. This month, we focus on loyalty, its definition, its importance, and how loyalty plays a part in our school, our martial arts, and in our relationships (i.e. friends, family, team mates, students, etc.) by discussing the following:
- Loyalty defined: responsibility, faithfulness, dependability, and trust
- Break down of loyalty for each age groups:
- Young students - I am true to my friends, family, and school.
- Older students/ teens/ adults - Faithful and committed to a person, place, group, or cause.
- Loyal roles : Asking the essential question of "How can I be a loyal friend, child, sibling, and citizen?
- The difference between speaking up vs. 'ratting out' and exploring when loyalty feels strange.
- Defining a Loyal Student : Asking the essential question of "How can I be loyal to my school, my goals, and my classmates?"
“The greater the loyalty of a group toward the group, the greater is the motivation among the members to achieve the goals of the group, and the greater the probability that thegroup will achieve its goals.”
