LOYALTY : POWerful Word for February

loyalty

Commitment is essential key in success. Commitment is also the key ingredient in loyalty. This month, we focus on loyalty, its definition, its importance, and how loyalty plays a part in our school, our martial arts, and in our relationships (i.e. friends, family, team mates, students, etc.) by discussing the following:

  • Loyalty defined: responsibility, faithfulness, dependability, and trust
  • Break down of loyalty for each age groups:
  • Young students - I am true to my friends, family, and school.
  • Older students/ teens/ adults - Faithful and committed to a person, place, group, or cause.
  • Loyal roles : Asking the essential question of "How can I be a loyal friend, child, sibling, and citizen?
  • The difference between speaking up vs. 'ratting out' and exploring when loyalty feels strange.
  • Defining a Loyal Student : Asking the essential question of "How can I be loyal to my school, my goals, and my classmates?"

“The greater the loyalty of a group toward the group, the greater is the motivation among the members to achieve the goals of the group, and the greater the probability that thegroup will achieve its goals.”
